Turkey Tetrazzini
Description
This recipe uses cooked linguini mixed with a creamy sauce made from butter, cooked turkey, cream of chicken and mushroom soups, sour cream, chicken broth, and seasoning. Frozen green peas add bursts of color and mild sweetness. The mixture is baked in a casserole dish topped generously with shredded mozzarella cheese until it melts and browns slightly.
The result is a warm dish with a combination of creamy and cheesy textures, tender noodles, and soft chunks of turkey. The seasoning includes garlic powder, salt, and pepper, which balance the rich base.
Turkey Tetrazzini is ideal for using leftover turkey, giving it new life in a filling and easy-to-serve entrée. It warms well and can be made in advance, making it convenient for busy households.
You can assemble the casserole up to a day before baking, adding extra oven time if cooking from chilled. This casserole also freezes well, stored covered for up to a month and thawed before baking. Leftovers last about two days refrigerated.
