Turkey White Bean Pumpkin Chili

This Turkey White Bean Pumpkin Chili offers a hearty blend of lean ground turkey, creamy white beans, and smooth pumpkin puree simmered with aromatic spices like cumin and oregano. The inclusion of green chiles adds a subtle heat balanced by the pumpkin's natural sweetness, creating a comforting chili with depth. Its slow cooking method melds flavors, making it a satisfying meal for cooler days or whenever a nutrient-rich, filling chili is desired.

Description

Turkey White Bean Pumpkin Chili combines lean ground turkey with white northern beans and pumpkin puree, enhanced by green chiles, onions, garlic, and a mix of spices including cumin, chili powder, oregano, and bay leaves. The ground turkey is browned first, then onions and garlic are sautéed to build a savory base before everything cooks together slowly in a crock pot or pressure cooker. This method lets the pumpkin soften and mingle with the spices, while the beans add creaminess and the turkey provides protein.

The result is a chili that balances mild heat and earthiness with the smooth, slightly sweet pumpkin, producing a thick and hearty texture. The green chiles contribute a gentle brightness and depth without overwhelming the dish. After cooking, the bay leaves are removed and seasoning adjusted to taste to ensure a well-rounded flavor.

Serve the chili hot, garnished with chopped cilantro or red onion and a dollop of Greek yogurt or low-fat sour cream if desired. Its wholesome ingredients and robust flavor make it ideal for a filling lunch or dinner during chilly weather or when a comforting bowl of chili is appreciated.
