Turkish Chicken Wings with Vegetables Couscous
Description
Turkish Chicken Wings with Vegetables Couscous combines marinated chicken wings with a vibrant vegetable couscous. The wings use a yogurt-based marinade infused with sweet paprika, Turkish cumin, sumac, lemon, and garlic, which tenderizes the meat and imparts a subtle tang and warmth from the spices. Baking the wings at moderate heat allows the marinade to set and wings to cook evenly without drying out.
The accompanying couscous is prepared by sautéing chopped onion, carrot, and red bell pepper, then stirring in the couscous before adding hot water and parsley. The couscous absorbs the flavorful broth and vegetables, offering a soft yet slightly textured side that contrasts with the spiced wings. A seasoning of curry powder adds an additional layer of mild earthy flavor.
This dish works well as a casual dinner, delivering a Turkish-inspired profile with accessible ingredients and a straightforward cooking method that balances protein and grains.
