Description

The recipe starts by melting butter and most of the miniature marshmallows over medium-low heat until smooth, then stirring in Rice Krispies cereal, some chopped toasted pecans, and additional unmelted marshmallows for texture. This mixture is pressed firmly into a prepared pan to form the base layer.

Separately, caramel bits are melted with heavy cream to a smooth sauce, and semi-sweet chocolate chips are melted with additional cream to create a tempered chocolate drizzle.   • 7 cups miniature marshmallows divided
  • 7 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 ⅓ cups pecan divided, chopped, toasted
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 5 ½ ounces caramel bits or 5 ½ ounces caramels unwrapped
  • 2 ½ tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and 6 cups of mini marshmallows over medium low heat until smooth.
  2. Stir in Rice Krispies, ⅓ cup pecans, and 1 cup of marshmallows (unmelted). Press into a well-greased 9×13 pan (or slightly smaller if you prefer a thicker Rice Krispie).
  3. Melt caramel bits and 2 ½ tablespoons heavy cream in the microwave for 60-90 seconds (stirring every 30 seconds) until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine ¼ cup heavy cream and chocolate chips. Microwave at 50% power for 90 seconds (stirring every 30 seconds) until smooth.
  5. Drizzle ½ of the caramel and ½ of the chocolate over the Krispies. Top with pecans. Drizzle remaining caramel and chocolate. Cool completely.
  6. Cut into squares and serve
