Ultimate Banana Cake Recipe
Description
This banana cake combines all-purpose flour with warming spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, balanced by sugar, neutral oil, and unsweetened applesauce to create a moist crumb. Mashed bananas add natural sweetness and a soft texture. The batter is mixed to just combine dry and wet ingredients, preserving tenderness, and baked at a moderate temperature until a toothpick comes out clean.
The frosting is made by melting butter carefully and whipping it with powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until smooth and creamy. This frosting spreads over the cooled cake and can be topped with walnuts for added crunch and flavor contrast. The result is a balanced dessert with banana’s natural sweetness enhanced by spice and a rich, smooth topping.
Store the cake in an airtight container to maintain freshness until serving. It pairs well with coffee or as a sweet treat any time of day.
