Valentine's Day Cookies

Valentine's Day Cookies are soft, buttery cookies studded with a mix of M&M candies and white chocolate chips. The dough combines melted salted butter, brown and granulated sugars, and vanilla extract, producing a sweet, tender base. Baking at 350 degrees for exactly 10 minutes ensures a soft center with just-set edges. These festive cookies hold colorful candy pieces dispersed throughout, adding texture and bursts of sweetness.

Description

These cookies begin with melted salted butter blended with both brown and granulated sugars, creating a balanced sweetness and moist texture. The addition of egg and vanilla extract enriches the dough, which is then combined with flour, baking soda, and salt to form a soft dough. M&M candies in a Valentine’s color mix along with white chocolate chips are folded in, giving both visual appeal and varied sweetness.

The cookies are portioned into twelve large scoops and baked at 350°F for exactly ten minutes. They may seem slightly underbaked when removed but will set as they cool, resulting in a soft, tender cookie with lightly crisp edges. These are ideal for gifting or sharing during Valentine’s celebrations.

The dough does not scale well, so it is best to make separate batches for larger quantities. Using real salted butter is important to achieve the intended flavor and texture.

  • 8 tablespoons butter melted, salted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup M&M candies Valentine's mix
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Add the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar to the bowl of a stand mixer and beat until well combined.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Dump in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until combined. Dough will be soft.
  5. Stir in the candy and white chocolate chips.
  6. Use a large cookie scoop to scoop out 12 balls of dough.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes exactly. Do not overbake. Cookies may look a bit underdone, but they will set up as they cool.

  9. Store, tightly covered, for up to 5 days.

Notes

  • This dough is best prepared in batches; it does not double well for larger quantities.
  • Use real salted butter rather than margarine for proper texture and flavor.
  • Bake cookies for exactly 10 minutes; they will set up as they cool though they may seem slightly underdone when removed.
  • Store baked cookies tightly covered for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
