Valentines Sugar Cookie Bars are the best way to celebrate Valentine's Day! Enjoy these thick, chewy sugar cookies with silky vanilla frosting.

Ingredients

Cookie ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter softened, unsalted, sweet cream
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 egg large
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract pure
  • 4 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 jimmies sprinkles Wilton brand, springtime pearlized
  • 1 heart sprinkles Wilton brand, pink

Frosting ingredients

  • 2 cups butter softened, unsalted, sweet cream
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract pure
  • 3-5 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • pink gel food coloring
  • small angled spatula

Instructions

Cookie Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Using a standing mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
  5. Gradually mix in to the wet ingredients.
  6. Fold in one container of sprinkles into the dough.
  7. Scoop dough into the prepared baking dish and lightly flatten with your hands.
  8. Place into the oven and bake for 20-30 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.

Frosting directions

  1. Using a standing mixer, beat together the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream.
  2. Beat on medium speed until smooth and stiff peaks form.
  3. Beat in a few drops of pink food coloring until combined.
  4. Using a angled spatula, frost the top of the cookie bars.
  5. Sprinkle with the remaining sprinkles.
  6. Cut into bars and enjoy!

Notes

  • Makes 1 9x13 baking dish.
