Walking Taco Casserole

Report
Walking Taco Casserole layers seasoned ground beef, black beans, and salsa topped with two kinds of shredded cheese and crunchy corn chips. Baking melts the cheese over the chips, creating a hearty, flavorful dish that captures the essence of a taco in a casserole form. It's a practical way to enjoy taco flavors with easy assembly and reheating potential.

Description

This casserole begins by browning ground beef with diced onions, then combining it with black beans, salsa, and taco seasoning for a spicy, savory filling. The mixture is spread in a baking dish and layered with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses. A layer of corn chips adds crunch and texture, topped again with cheese that melts to bind the ingredients and crisp the chips.

The dish can be served with fresh toppings like shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, cilantro, and lime wedges for brightness and contrast. It suits casual meals or gatherings, providing all taco components in a baked form without assembling individual tacos.

Leftovers store well in an airtight container for up to five days, making the casserole convenient for multiple meals.
