Watergate Salad Recipe

Watergate Salad combines crushed pineapple, pistachio pudding mix, miniature marshmallows, chopped pecans, shredded coconut, and whipped topping for a sweet, fluffy side or dessert. The mix of fruit, nuts, and creamy elements yields a textured salad with a light green hue from pudding. After mixing and chilling, it sets into a chilled, airy dish often served at gatherings.

Description

The Watergate Salad Recipe blends the sweetness and juiciness of crushed pineapple (including juice) with pistachio instant pudding mix to provide signature flavor and color. Miniature marshmallows add softness and a subtle chew, while chopped pecans and flaked coconut contribute crunch and complexity.

Once the dry ingredients are combined with the pineapple, the whipped topping is folded in to create a creamy, aerated texture. Refrigerating for several hours or overnight allows flavors to meld and the salad to firm up. Serving it chilled enhances the refreshing character.

This salad is commonly served as a dessert or side dish during holiday meals and potlucks. It pairs well with heavier entrees to provide a sweet contrast and can be garnished with additional whipped topping or maraschino cherries for presentation.
