Watermelon Margarita

This watermelon margarita recipe is the perfect summertime drink! Made with fresh fruit and only five ingredients, this cocktail is easy to make, beautiful, and refreshing.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups watermelon chopped (approx 1/4-1/3 a small seedless watermelon)
  • 3 ounces tequila blanco or reposado
  • 3 ounces triple sec or cointreau
  • 2 ounces lime juice fresh
  • 1 ounce agave

Instructions

  1. Prepare the watermelon by cutting into cubes and removing the peel.
  2. Place the watermelon into a blender and add the tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice in.
  3. Blend for 1-2 minutes, until the watermelon is completely blended and no large chunks remain. Mixture will look foamy on top.
  4. Taste and add agave as needed to sweeten.
  5. Run a lime wedge along the rim of your glasses. Dip into coarse salt or sugar.
  6. Add ice to your glasses and pour the watermelon margarita over the ice. Use a spoon to hold back the foam from blending while you pour.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • Frozen: prep the day before and freeze your watermelon to make these a cold, frosty margarita. Simply slice it up, lay it out on a parchment paper lined baking tray and freeze for at least 2 hours before removing from the tray to store in a bag.
  • Pitcher: want to serve these for a party or get-together? Make a pitcher! You can easily multiply the recipe by how many people you wanting to serve.
