Weight Watchers Apple Cobbler

This apple cobbler features sliced Fuji apples tossed with honey, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg for a spiced fruit base. A topping made from whole wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, and cold butter creates a tender crumb once baked. The cobbler bakes until the topping is golden and the filling bubbly, making a comforting dessert with balanced sweet and warm spice flavors. It provides a controlled portion dessert option aligned with Weight Watchers SmartPoints.

Description

The Weight Watchers Apple Cobbler uses peeled, sliced Fuji apples combined with honey, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg to create a flavorful, spiced fruit layer. The cornstarch helps thicken the juices released while baking, preventing a soggy bottom. The batter topping, made of white whole wheat flour (or all-purpose), sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cold butter cut in to a crumbly texture, forms a soft, golden crust once baked.

After pouring the batter over the apple mixture and sprinkling brown sugar on top, the cobbler is baked at 375°F for about 30-35 minutes until the crust is set and the apples are tender. The result is a warm, soft dessert with a pleasant contrast between the sweet spiced fruit and the light, cakey topping.

This recipe yields servings with calculated Weight Watchers points, making it suitable for those monitoring SmartPoints and PointsPlus values while still enjoying a classic baked apple dessert.
