White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies
Description
The recipe starts by creaming softened butter with brown and white sugars until light, then incorporating eggs and vanilla extract for moisture and flavor. Dry ingredients including flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt are combined separately before gently mixing into the wet ingredients. Chopped macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips are folded in, distributing texture and sweetness throughout the dough. Scooping two-tablespoon portions onto parchment-lined sheets and baking at 375°F results in cookies with slightly crisp edges and soft centers. Allowing cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring prevents breakage, and pressing extra chips and nuts on top adds a finishing touch. Properly stored, these cookies stay fresh and maintain texture.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 cup granulated sugar white
- 2 egg large
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 /2 teaspoon salt fine sea salt
- 1 cup macadamia nuts coarsely chopped
- 1 ½ cups white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla. Mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined. Add the macadamia nuts and white chocolate chips. Stir until combined.
- Scoop 2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie and place at least 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are just starting to brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to sit on the pan for a few minutes before removing to a wire rack. Press additional chocolate chips and nuts on top. Sprinkle with a little bit of sea salt. Store baked cookies in an airtight container.
