White Chocolate Strawberry Trifle
Description
The White Chocolate Strawberry Trifle starts by melting chopped white chocolate with a small amount of whipped cream to create a silky mixture. This is then folded into freshly whipped cream flavored with vanilla to form a sweet, airy cream. Vanilla cake baked from mix is cut into pieces that are used as a base and layered throughout the trifle.
Fresh strawberries are washed, hulled, and sliced to add ripe berry freshness and a slight tartness contrasting the sweet cream and cake. The ingredients are layered in a large trifle bowl starting with cake pieces pressed gently to avoid gaps, followed by a third of the strawberries, then half of the white chocolate whipped cream. The layering is repeated, and the top is finished with remaining strawberries and optionally grated white chocolate for garnish.
Chilling the assembled dessert for at least four hours allows it to set and develop balanced flavors. This trifle serves well as an elegant dessert option showcasing layered textures of soft cake, creamy topping, and juicy fruit.
