10 Minute Pan-Seared Butter Scallops

These pan-seared scallops cook quickly to develop a golden crust while remaining tender inside. A butter, garlic, and lemon sauce poured over the scallops adds richness and brightness, accented with fresh parsley or dill. The straightforward technique delivers delicate seafood with a balanced buttery citrus finish.

Description

This recipe calls for patting scallops dry, seasoning them with kosher salt, and searing in a hot pan with oil for about 60 to 90 seconds per side until golden. Removing the scallops at their peak ensures they remain tender and juicy without overcooking.

The pan is then used to melt butter with garlic and lemon juice, scraping up fond for flavor. This sauce is spooned over the cooked scallops, which are garnished with fresh herbs such as parsley or dill to add herbal brightness and color contrast.

Ready in about ten minutes, these scallops offer a quick seafood dish with a smooth buttery, tangy sauce and a lightly crisp exterior. They are best served immediately to enjoy the fresh texture and temperature.
