Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 pound ground beef lean
  • 8 ounces shell pasta medium
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup onion about 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 (15-ounce) tomato sauce canned
  • 4 ounces cream cheese cubed
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  1. Cook 8 ounces medium shells pasta in a large pot of boiling water according to the directions on the package. Drain and rinse them and set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 cup diced onion, and 3 teaspoons minced garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the onions are almost tender, then add 1 pound lean ground beef. Cook and crumble until browned and no pink remains, about 7-10 minutes.
  3. Add 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper to the skillet and stir to combine. Slowly stir in 2 cups beef broth and 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce. Let it simmer until it starts to thicken, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add in the cooked shell pasta, 4 ounces cubed cream cheese, and 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until all the cheese is melted and it is heated throughout. Serve immediately.
