30-Minute Instant Pot Ribs (Extra Juicy)

30-Minute Instant Pot Ribs are baby back ribs seasoned with a mixture of garlic, onion, chili powder, brown sugar, salt, and pepper, pressure cooked with apple juice, then finished under the broiler with barbecue sauce. This technique creates tender ribs with a balance of savory spices and a sticky, caramelized sauce finish in a short time.

Description

The ribs are coated with a dry rub made from garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper, seasoning the meat with a flavorful crust. Apple juice added to the Instant Pot creates steam and moisture essential for pressure cooking, which tenderizes the ribs in a fraction of the usual time. After natural pressure release, the ribs are brushed generously with barbecue sauce and broiled for about 5 minutes, caramelizing the sugars and forming a glossy, flavorful crust.

This cooking method results in ribs that pull easily from the bone and maintain juiciness, with smoky, sweet, and spicy notes from the rub and sauce. Serving these ribs immediately after broiling preserves their tender, moist qualities and lively flavor.
