5-ingredient Turkey Sliders
Description
The recipe begins by preheating the oven and slicing Hawaiian rolls horizontally into two large pieces. Both sides are spread evenly with a blend of mustard and mayonnaise. The bottom half is layered with turkey slices and Swiss cheese. The top half completes the sandwich before the whole assembly is brushed with melted butter combined with mustard.
The sliders bake at 350°F until the cheese melts and the rolls are heated through. The result is a warm slider with a balance of creamy mayonnaise, tangy mustard, savory turkey, and mild cheese, all contained within soft, slightly sweet rolls.
Optional steps include covering the sliders with foil during the first part of baking to keep the rolls softer. These sliders can be assembled ahead and frozen for up to two months, then reheated with a similar baking process, making them convenient for meal prep or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 count package hawaiian rolls
- 1/2 cup whole grain mustard or honey mustard
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 6 lices swiss cheese
- 9 oz turkey deli sliced
- 3 tablespoons butter melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Cut the rolls lengthwise so you have two big pieces.
- Spread 1/4 cup mustard and mayonnaise on each side of the rolls. Place the bottom roll in a pan, top with half of the turkey, Swiss cheese and the rest of the turkey. Place the other half of the rolls on top.
- Mix butter and 1/4 cup remaining mustard. Brush it on the rolls.
- Bake in the oven for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Cover sliders with foil for the first 10 minutes of baking to keep rolls soft, then uncover to brown.
- Adding mayonnaise along with mustard on the rolls gives extra moisture and flavor to the sliders.
- Assemble and wrap sliders in plastic wrap to freeze for up to 2 months; bake from frozen at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until cheese melts.
- Using melted butter mixed with mustard to brush the top adds flavor and promotes browning during baking.
