7 Layer Bean Dip
Description
This layered dip starts with a base of bean dip followed by guacamole, then a creamy blend of sour cream, mayonnaise, and taco seasoning. Topping with shredded cheese adds richness, while olives, diced tomatoes, and green onions contribute freshness and color. Spreading the layers carefully keeps them distinct, creating a visually appealing dish.
Refrigeration for at least an hour helps the dip firm and lets flavors meld, enhancing the texture and taste. The mixture of creamy and fresh ingredients makes the dip flavorful and versatile for serving with tortilla chips or alternative dippers.
The recipe suggests making the first five layers up to 24 hours ahead, storing covered in the refrigerator. Add delicate items like tomatoes and green onions just before serving to preserve freshness. Using a clear dish shows off the colorful layers.
Besides tortilla chips, alternative accompaniments like carrot sticks, pita bread, baguette slices, and crackers can be served depending on preference.
