7 Layer Dip

This 7 Layer Dip stacks refried beans, a seasoned sour cream mix, enchilada sauce, guacamole, shredded cheddar, olives, scallions, and tomatoes to create a colorful, layered appetizer or snack. Served chilled with tortilla chips, it offers a variety of creamy, tangy, and savory textures and flavors in each bite.

Description

The 7 Layer Dip is composed of refried beans as the base layer, topped with sour cream mixed with hot sauce and taco seasoning for a tangy creaminess. Enchilada sauce adds a slightly spicy tomato depth, followed by fresh guacamole for creaminess and a hint of avocado flavor. Shredded cheddar cheese provides richness, while sliced olives, chopped scallions, and quartered grape tomatoes contribute bursts of briny and fresh notes.

The dip is assembled in a shallow dish and refrigerated for 1-2 hours to let the layers meld and flavors harmonize. Its varied textures—from creamy to chunky—and the combination of mild heat and fresh toppings make it a popular choice for serving alongside crispy tortilla chips at gatherings or as a flavorful snack.
