7-Layer Mexican Dip

7-Layer Mexican Dip layers seasoned ground beef combined with refried beans, a spiced sour cream mixture, guacamole made from mashed avocado with herbs and lime, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, green onions, and sliced olives. Each layer adds distinct flavors and textures, creating a rich, savory appetizer ideal to serve chilled with corn chips for dipping at parties or casual gatherings.

Description

This 7-Layer Mexican Dip begins with cooking lean ground beef seasoned with taco mix, combined into refried beans for a hearty base. A separate sour cream mixture is flavored with the remaining taco seasoning to add creamy spice. Fresh guacamole is prepared by mashing peeled and seeded avocados, then blending in lime juice, cilantro, red onion, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper for freshness and acidity.

The layers build in a wide serving dish, starting with the beef and bean mixture, followed by the sour cream blend, guacamole, diced tomatoes, a generous layer of shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend, sliced green onions, and black olives on top. The combination delivers savory, creamy, fresh, and tangy components with contrasting textures.

Chilling before serving allows flavors to meld. This dip pairs well with hearty corn chips and is suitable for festive occasions, potlucks, or casual snacking.
