7up Lime Jello Salad
Description
7up Lime Jello Salad combines lime gelatin dissolved in hot water with softened cream cheese, which is mixed in until smooth. After adding fizzy 7up soda, the mixture is partially chilled, then folded with whipped Dream Whip for a light, fluffy texture. Finally, crushed drained pineapple is stirred in before chilling the mixture fully to set. The salad is served chilled, often topped with whipped cream or a cherry. Its creamy and slightly tangy flavor comes from the lime gelatin and pineapple, complemented by the sweetness and carbonation of 7up. The dessert has a mousse-like consistency that holds firm when chilled adequately.
This salad makes a refreshing option for summer gatherings or holiday meals, offering a cool and sweet ending. The combination of gelatin and cream cheese creates a smooth, velvety mouthfeel, while the pineapple pieces add bursts of juiciness. It pairs well with light main dishes and can be served chilled from the fridge as a fruity, chilled treat.
Variations include substituting lemon gelatin for lime, adding miniature marshmallows, sliced bananas, or chopped pecans to enhance texture and flavor. Since brands differ in nutrition, use a nutrition calculator for precise calories per serving. The dessert should be refrigerated for several hours to ensure it fully sets before serving.
