Air Fried Green Beans

These air fried green beans are coated in a seasoned panko breadcrumb crust that crisps up nicely in the air fryer. The combination of flour, egg, and a breadcrumb mixture seasoned with salt and paprika creates a crunchy texture on the outside while the inside remains tender. Using fresh green beans ensures a bright, fresh bite, and the recipe suggests serving these immediately for best texture. A light spray of olive oil helps the coating brown in the air fryer without deep frying.

Description

Air Fried Green Beans offers a crunchy and flavorful way to enjoy fresh green beans without heavy frying. The preparation involves coating each green bean with flour, then dipping in beaten eggs, followed by rolling in a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, salt, and paprika for a mild smoky seasoning. Cooking them in the air fryer at 375°F for around 8 minutes crisps the coating while maintaining the beans' crunch. The recipe allows a slight adjustment to higher heat for a darker crust.

The texture achieved by this method is notably crispy on the outside and tender inside, owing to the coating and cooking process. The use of panko breadcrumbs adds an airy crunch distinct from regular breadcrumbs. Spraying the coated beans with olive oil spray before air frying encourages browning and prevents dryness.

These green beans are best served immediately while hot to preserve crispness. The recipe suggests dipping them in Ranch dressing, enhancing their mild spiced flavor. They make a good side dish or snack when a crispy vegetable option is desired.

A recommended approach for larger batches or faster preparation is the "shake and bake" method outlined in the original notes, which can speed up coating. Keeping the beans slightly moist but not wet before coating helps the breading stick properly without sogginess.
