Air Fryer Apple Chips
Report
Change regular apples into a great snack with this air fryer apple chips recipe and simple ingredients. This is a fun and nutritious snack for kids and adults and makes apple chips in air fryer in a fraction of the time it takes to make them in the oven or in a dehydrator.

Instructions
- Slice the apple into thin slices (no more then ⅛ of an inch thick) using a mandolin food slicer. See notes.
- Lay the apple slices flat on a smooth surface (like a baking sheet).
- Place cinnamon and sugar in a small mixing bowl and mix together until blended.
- With a spoon or your fingers, sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the apple slices.
- Place apples flat in the bottom of the air fryer basket in a single layer, working in batches. Be sure the apple slices do not touch one another. Spraying them lightly with oil can help them to be crispier. See notes.
- Bake at 320 for 8-10 minutes, gently shaking the basket and checking on the apples every 2 minutes. If the chips aren't crispy try cooking them an additional few minutes. Allow chips to cool completely before serving. A cooling rack can be handy to hold the batches, then enjoy!
Notes
- You want the apples to be sliced really thinly, no more than 1/8 of an inch thick. That's no more than 3 mm thick. If the apple slices are thicker, they won't get crispy.
- I don't really recommend using a sharp knife as it can be really hard to get the apple slices thin enough for this recipe. If the apples aren't thin enough they won't become crispy air fryer apple chips and will be chewy.
- I don't like using traditional cooking spray in my air fryer as it tends to stick to it and make the air fryer gummy and hard to clean. I use Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Spray because the spray has a different type of nozzle and does not need a propellant additive. You can use any oil spray that has this type of nozzle with the same effect.
