Air Fryer Bagels
Description
This recipe starts by combining flour, baking powder, and salt, then mixing in plain nonfat Greek yogurt to form a dough. The dough is divided and rolled into ropes shaped into rings. An egg wash helps the everything bagel seasoning adhere to the surface. Cooking in the air fryer at 350°F for about 10-11 minutes creates a golden crust with a soft interior.
The air fryer’s dry heat cooks the bagels quickly and evenly, forming a lightly crispy crust without needing to boil. The dough’s yogurt content contributes to a tender crumb with moderate chewiness. Applying seasoning before cooking enhances flavor and texture.
Serving these bagels fresh with spreads or sandwich fillings is ideal. They keep well stored airtight for several days. Adjusting dough moisture with flour or yogurt as needed ensures workable consistency. For small air fryer baskets, batch cooking accommodates quantity.
Using parchment paper or a silicone baking mat prevents sticking. Cooling bagels before cutting helps maintain shape. Doubling the recipe is simple for larger batches.
