Air Fryer Biscuits - Instant Pot Biscuits

These air fryer biscuits combine all-purpose flour, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cold butter, pumpkin puree, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. The dough is processed to a crumbly texture, rolled, and cut into biscuits before being air fried until golden brown. The result is tender, slightly spiced biscuits with a soft crumb and pumpkin richness, suitable for a breakfast treat or snack. The recipe also adapts to cooking the biscuits in an Instant Pot air fryer basket.

Description

The Air Fryer Biscuits recipe blends dry ingredients like flour, brown sugar, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, and salt with cold cubed butter to create a crumbly base. Pumpkin puree, heavy cream, and vanilla are then incorporated to form a dough. This dough is rolled out, cut into biscuit shapes, and brushed with milk to promote a golden top.

The biscuits cook in the air fryer at 400°F for 10–12 minutes until golden and cooked through, offering a tender texture and subtle pumpkin flavor complemented by warm spices from the pumpkin pie spice. For those using an Instant Pot with an air fryer function, biscuits are cooked similarly on a lined basket for 17 minutes.

These biscuits can be prepared in batches due to basket size limitations. The biscuit dough should not be overworked to maintain flakiness. They pair well with spreads or glazes, such as cream cheese or sugar glaze, enhancing their lightly sweet and spiced profile.

Variations in air fryer models may require adjusting cook time. Brushing tops with milk before cooking aids browning. Allow biscuits to cool slightly on a rack before serving for best texture.
