Air Fryer Boneless Chicken Wings

Report
These Air Fryer Boneless Chicken Wings feature bite-sized pieces of chicken breast coated in a seasoned flour mixture after being dipped in beaten eggs, then air-fried until crispy and finished with buffalo sauce. The flour mixture includes spices like cayenne, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to add heat and flavor. The cooking process involves frying in batches with oil sprays to develop a golden crust. Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the air fryer to maintain texture.

Description

To create air fryer boneless wings, diced chicken breast pieces are first coated in beaten eggs, which help the seasoned flour mixture adhere. The flour mixture combines all-purpose flour with cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, providing a mildly spicy and flavorful crust.

The coated chicken is air-fried at 370°F in batches, with oil sprayed on the chicken and the basket to enhance browning and crispness. The wings cook for about 5 minutes on one side, then flipped and cooked for an additional 5-7 minutes until golden and cooked through. After cooking, the wings can be tossed in buffalo sauce to add a classic tangy and spicy coating.

This method produces boneless wings with a crispy exterior and tender interior without deep frying, making it more convenient and less greasy. The recipe includes storage references, encouraging refrigeration of leftovers in airtight containers and reheating briefly in the air fryer to restore crisp texture.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 pound chicken breast diced into 1 inch pieces, boneless, skinless
  • 2 egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce

Instructions

  1. Whisk the eggs together in a shallow bowl. Then place the chicken pieces in the eggs and toss to coat them thoroughly.
  2. Then in a large zip lock bag, mix together the flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  3. Then work in batches and place the chicken pieces from the eggs (drip off any excess eggs from the chicken) into the flour mixture. Seal the bag and allow air to stay in the bag. Then shake the bag to thoroughly coat the chicken in the flour mixture.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 370 degrees F. If your air fryer does not have a preheat option, then run the air fryer for 5 minutes at 370 degrees F. Then spray the air fryer basket with olive oil or avocado oil. Place the chicken in a single layer (you will need to work in batches) in the air fryer basket and spray the top of the chicken with olive oil or avocado oil.
  5. Cook for 5 minutes at 370 degrees F. Flip the chicken and spray it with more olive oil or avocado oil. Cook for 5-7 more minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
  6. Then place the chicken in a large, pour the buffalo sauce on top and toss to coat.
  7. Then serve with your favorite dipping sauces and enjoy!

Notes

  • Store leftover chicken wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Reheat in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes to restore crispness before serving.
