Air Fryer Buffalo Wings
Description
These Air Fryer Buffalo Wings start with chicken wings separated into drums and flats, which are patted dry and seasoned with salt, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika. The seasoning adds depth and a mild smoky warmth. The wings are air fried first at 375°F for 15 minutes, then flipped and cooked at 400°F for an additional 5 minutes to ensure crisp skin and fully cooked meat.
While the wings air fry, a classic buffalo sauce is prepared by gently heating together butter, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. The finished wings are tossed in the sauce to coat evenly, delivering a balance of heat, richness from the butter, and umami from Worcestershire sauce.
This recipe suits those looking for a less oily alternative to traditional fried buffalo wings but still craving the crispy texture and bold flavor. The wings can be served with dipping sauces or celery sticks for a familiar accompaniment.
Using a mix of wing parts helps with cooking evenness and texture variation. Dairy-free butter or ghee can substitute butter to make the sauce dairy-free.
