Description
These chicken tenders start by seasoning all-purpose flour with salt and pepper, then dredging the chicken in the flour, coating in a whisked egg mixture, and finally rolling in a blend of Italian breadcrumbs, panko, grated Parmesan, and additional seasoning. The coated tenders are drizzled with melted butter and sprayed lightly with cooking spray to encourage browning in the air fryer.
Cooking at 400°F in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway, crisps the coating while keeping the chicken tender and moist inside. Ingredients
- 1 1/4 pounds chicken tenderloin also sometimes called tenderloins, raw
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt plus more to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper plus more to taste
- 2 egg
- 3/4 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
- 3 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
- Place the flour in a medium sized bowl. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Stir to combine.
- Place the eggs in another medium bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of water and whisk until smooth.
- Place the Italian style breadcrumbs, panko breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese and salt and pepper to taste in a medium bowl. Mix well.
- Dredge each chicken piece in flour, then coat in egg, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Repeat the process with all the chicken.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the tenders, then spray the chicken with cooking spray.
- Place the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer. You may need to work in batches.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time, or until chicken is cooked through and coating is brown and crispy. Serve immediately.
