Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Air Fryer Chicken Wings offer a crispy texture using less oil than traditional frying. The recipe features two variations: a Parmesan-coated version with paprika and herbes de Provence for a flavorful crust, and a plain seasoned version focusing on salt and black pepper. Cooking in the air fryer at 350°F produces wings with a crisp exterior and juicy interior. Ensuring an internal temperature of 165°F guarantees safety, while garnishing with extra Parmesan and herbs enhances the Parmesan version's taste. This recipe suits cooks wanting fried-style wings with less grease and fuss.

Description

These Air Fryer Chicken Wings come in two distinctive styles. The Parmesan version combines grated Parmesan, paprika, and herbes de Provence for a textured and aromatic coating that crisps in the air fryer. The plain version keeps seasoning minimal with salt and pepper, highlighting the wings' natural flavor. Cooking at 350°F for 15 minutes per batch with a turn halfway through yields wings with a nicely browned and crispy exterior while the inside remains tender. Using an air fryer allows for less oil use and even cooking.

The method requires patting wings dry before seasoning to promote crispiness. The Parmesan version’s seasoning mix adheres well, creating a flavorful crust. Both options benefit from spraying the basket lightly with cooking oil to prevent sticking. Checking the internal temperature ensures the wings are safely cooked through. Garnishing the Parmesan wings with additional cheese and fresh herbs uplifts the final presentation.

These wings can be served as a snack, appetizer, or part of a meal. Cooking in batches ensures proper air circulation, critical for a crispy result. Adjust seasoning and sauces according to preference after cooking.

The notes advise not overcrowding the air fryer basket to maintain good air circulation and warn the cooking time may vary with wing size. Using a cooling rack after cooking prevents sogginess. The recipe provides Weight Watchers SmartPoints for each version and advises cooking wings to 75°C (165°F) for safety.
