Air Fryer Cinnamon Sugar Donuts (with Biscuits!)
Description
This recipe transforms canned biscuits into donut shapes by cutting out the center with a small round cutter. The donuts and holes are air fried at 350°F until golden and cooked through, resulting in a soft but slightly crisp texture. Brushed with melted butter while warm, they are then coated with a cinnamon and sugar blend, adding a sweet, aromatic finish.
The biscuit dough base gives the donuts a flaky, layered quality typical of biscuits rather than yeasted or cake-style donuts. The air fryer produces a lighter finish compared to deep frying while maintaining a pleasant exterior texture. The donut holes are cooked separately and treated the same way, making use of the cutouts.
This treat can be served warm as a breakfast or snack and the recipe allows dairy-free variations by using vegan biscuits and plant-based butter. To reduce fat, the butter coating can be omitted, using cooking spray instead for adhesion of the cinnamon sugar.
