Air Fryer Copycat McDonald’s Apple Pies

This recipe recreates McDonald's apple pies using pre-made pie crust and canned apple pie filling cooked in an air fryer. The pies develop a crisp, golden exterior while the inside remains soft and fruity. Brushing with egg wash and sprinkling cinnamon sugar enhance the crust's color and sweetness. The air fryer reduces cooking time and produces a crunchy texture similar to the original fried pies without deep frying.

Description

The Air Fryer Copycat McDonald’s Apple Pies start with rolled-out pie crust cut into rectangles, which are filled with apple pie filling before being sealed and crimped. The beaten egg wash brushed on each pie promotes browning, and the cinnamon sugar added on top adds aroma and subtle sweetness. Cooking in the air fryer at 360°F crisps the crust evenly in about 8 minutes, resulting in a golden, flaky exterior. The pie filling softens and heats through, balancing the texture with warm tender apples inside.

These pies can be enjoyed warm as a handheld dessert or snack, replicating the familiar taste and texture of McDonald’s apple pies. They are suitable for making quickly at home with simple ingredients and appliances.
