Air Fryer Croutons
Description
This recipe uses small bread rolls cut into cubes, which are tossed with extra virgin olive oil, garlic puree, and oregano for seasoning. Mixing by hand ensures each piece is coated evenly. Cooking the cubes in an air fryer at 200°C (400°F) crisps them quickly, producing croutons with a crunchy texture while retaining some chewiness inside if cooked briefly.
The air fryer allows for a healthier and faster alternative to traditional oven-toasted croutons. Adjusting the cooking time yields different textures: shorter time for softer croutons suited for salads, longer for harder croutons ideal for soups.
These croutons can be served immediately as a topping for salads or soups to add flavor and texture without additional fat from frying.
