Air Fryer Donut Holes
Description
This recipe uses canned biscuit dough cut into small rounds to create donut holes cooked briefly in an air fryer at 360°F. The air frying produces a lightly crisp outer texture while keeping the inside soft and fluffy. Tossing midway ensures even cooking and browning on all sides.
After cooking, the donut holes are dipped in melted butter and rolled in a cinnamon sugar mixture, adding sweetness and a slight stickiness that enhances the tender dough. The combination of warm buttery coating and cinnamon sugar provides a classic flavor profile reminiscent of cinnamon donuts.
These donut holes are best served immediately while still warm to enjoy their soft and tender texture. However, leftovers can be stored up to three days in an airtight container at room temperature and reheated in a microwave for convenience.
Using a small pastry cutter or a bottle lid allows for consistent sizing. Avoid non-stick sprays in the air fryer basket, opting for olive oil to avoid damage.
Ingredients
- 1 can Biscuits Grand Biscuits, refrigerated
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp cinnamon
- 4 Tbsp butter melted
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 360 degrees F. If your air fryer does not have a preheat option, turn your air fryer to the 360 degrees F option and let it run for approximately 5 minutes.
- Cut the donut holes from the biscuits with a small cookie cutter. Coat the air fryer basket with olive oil (do not use a non-stick cooking spray as those could damage your air fryer).
- Place the donut holes in the air fryer and cook for 4 minutes (tossing them halfway through the cook time). While the donuts are cooking, combine the cinnamon and sugar together in a small bowl and melt the butter in a separate bowl.
- Remove the donuts after the cooking time, dip the donuts holes in the melted butter then roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture (make sure to get the bottoms and the sides of the donuts).
- Serve immediately while they’re still warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Use a mini pastry cutter or a bottle lid to cut the donut holes evenly from biscuit dough.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Reheat donut holes in the microwave before serving to restore softness.
- Use olive oil to grease the air fryer basket instead of non-stick sprays to avoid damage.
