Air Fryer Donuts with Biscuits
Description
This recipe transforms store-bought jumbo biscuit dough into quick homemade donuts by cutting out centers and air frying at 360°F in a lightly oiled basket. The air fryer gives a golden finish with a tender interior without deep-frying. Cinnamon sugar coating applied after a butter dip offers a sweet, crunchy exterior layer.
The biscuits provide a flaky, layered dough that puffs during air frying, producing a light bite. The process uses minimal oil spray to protect the air fryer basket and cooks small batches to prevent overcrowding for even browning.
These donuts should be served immediately for best texture and flavor, enjoying the contrast of warm, soft dough and sweet cinnamon sugar crunch. The recipe requires basic pantry staples and convenience biscuit dough, making it an approachable treat.
Ingredients
- 16 oz Biscuits refrigerated, flaky, jumbo
- 1/2 c. sugar granulated white
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 Tbsp butter melted
- olive oil spray or coconut oil spray
Instructions
- Combine sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl; set aside.
- Remove the biscuits from the can, separate them and place them on a flat surface. Use a 1-inch round biscuit cutter (or similarly-sized bottle cap) to cut holes out of the center of each biscuit.
- Lightly coat air fryer basket with olive or coconut oil spray. Do not use non-stick spray like Pam because it can damage the coating on the basket.
- Place 4 donuts in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not touching.
- Air Fry at 360 degrees F for 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Remove donuts from Air Fryer, dip in melted butter then roll in cinnamon sugar to coat. Serve immediately.
