Air Fryer Fish Tacos
Description
Air Fryer Fish Tacos prepare cod fillets by patting them dry, seasoning with a spice rub including chili powder, oregano, garlic granules, paprika, cayenne, cumin, salt, and black pepper, then cooking them in an air fryer at 200°C (400°F) for 8 to 10 minutes. This method crisps the exterior while keeping the fish moist and flaky inside.
The cooked cod is served in warmed soft tortillas paired with coleslaw for crunch, plus optional fresh cilantro, jalapeños, and hot sauce for additional flavor and heat. The spice blend enhances the mildness of the cod, providing a balanced savory and lightly spicy profile.
This recipe is practical for a quick casual meal that delivers texture contrasts and natural fish flavor enhanced by the aromatic seasoning blend. The air fryer makes cleanup easier and reduces oil use compared to frying. Seasoning the fish before cooking ensures deep flavor penetration.
Important tips include drying the cod well to help the seasoning stick, avoiding overcrowding the air fryer basket for even cooking, and not flipping the fish during cooking to preserve its delicate structure. Spray the air fryer basket with oil to prevent sticking and cook fish fillets of similar thickness for uniform doneness.
