Air Fryer Fried Chicken
Description
The chicken is first dried, then marinated in a blend of buttermilk, eggs, salt, and pepper, which tenderizes the meat and helps the flour coating adhere. A seasoned flour mixture containing garlic powder, seasoned salt, paprika, onion powder, and pepper gives aromatic flavor and a crispy crust. The chicken undergoes a double dredge: flour, buttermilk mixture, then flour again. It is placed in the air fryer basket with enough spacing for air circulation, sprayed with oil for crispness, and cooked in two stages, turning midway to ensure even browning and doneness.
The result is a crispy-skinned chicken with flavorful seasoning and moist flesh inside. This air frying technique is convenient for preparing fried chicken without submerging it in oil. Leftovers should be stored in airtight containers in the refrigerator.
Adjust cooking times since air fryer models differ. Monitoring during cooking avoids over or under-done chicken.
