Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Wings
Description
The Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Wings recipe starts by cooking frozen wings in the air fryer at a high temperature to defrost them evenly. After draining excess moisture, the wings are coated with a blend of spices including garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper, then returned to the air fryer to crisp up. The wings can be served plain or tossed in a honey buffalo sauce made from buffalo wing sauce, melted butter, and honey, providing a balance of heat and sweetness. The air fryer method produces a crispy outside texture while keeping the wings juicy and tender inside.
These wings pair well with classic accompaniments such as ranch or blue cheese dressing accompanied by celery or carrot sticks, making them a versatile appetizer or snack. The recipe allows customization with different sauces according to preference.
The final cooking time may vary depending on wing size and air fryer model. It is important not to overcrowd the basket for even crisping and to drain any liquid after the initial defrost step. Using light oil helps the seasoning adhere and promotes browning. Leftover wings can be reheated in the air fryer to regain crispiness.
