Air Fryer Green Beans
Description
This recipe uses fresh green beans trimmed and coated lightly with olive or avocado oil using a spray bottle for even coverage. Garlic powder and salt season the beans before they cook. Air frying at 360 degrees Fahrenheit crisps the beans in 8 to 10 minutes, with a halfway shake to ensure even cooking. The result is green beans that retain some tenderness with a slightly crisp skin and lightly roasted garlic notes.
The green beans can be served as a side dish complementing a variety of meals or as a simple snack. Their subtle seasoning keeps the flavor straightforward and adaptable.
If using smaller French green beans, it is recommended to reduce the cook time to 6 minutes to prevent overcooking. Alternatively, when a spray bottle is unavailable, tossing the beans with a measured amount of oil achieves similar results.
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound Green bean fresh
- olive oil or avocado oil, in a spray bottle
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Wash and dry the beans.
- Cut the stem end off the beans. The curly tip can remain on.
- Put the green beans in a bowl and spray with a little bit of cooking oil.
- Add the garlic powder and salt. Toss the beans with tongs to coat.
- Air fry the green beans at 360 degrees F for 8-10 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time remove the basket and shake to redistribute the beans.
- If you want them crisper cook them for a minute or two longer.
Notes
- If you lack a spray bottle, toss green beans with 1/4 teaspoon oil to coat evenly before air frying.
- For small French green beans, reduce air frying time to about 6 minutes to prevent overcooking.
