Air Fryer Jalapeno Poppers Recipe
Description
This recipe starts with halving and deseeding jalapeno peppers to create small boats for filling. A mixture of softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and seasoning—such as a blend of cayenne, paprika, and garlic—is prepared to fill the peppers evenly. Each stuffed half is then wrapped with a thin slice of bacon, which is secured with a toothpick if necessary.
The poppers cook in a preheated air fryer at 350 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes or until the bacon is crisped to your liking. The air fryer allows quick cooking with less oil while achieving a crisp bacon outer texture paired with a creamy and spicy center.
These poppers make a flavorful snack or appetizer with a balance of smoky bacon, rich cheese, and a mild to moderate heat from the jalapenos. Cooling briefly after cooking helps the filling set before serving.
Ingredients
- 10 jalapeno pepper
- 5 ounces cream cheese softened
- 5 ounces cheddar cheese shredded
- 1 tablespoon preferred seasonings I use a mix of cayenne, paprika and garlic - try taco seasoning
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
- 20 lices Bacon thin cut
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 350 degrees F.
- Slice the jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise and scoop out the insides with a spoon.
- Add the cream cheese, cheddar cheese and seasonings to a bowl and mix well.
- Fill each jalapeno pepper half with the spicy cheese mixture. You might have some leftover, depending on the size of your peppers. Just distribute evenly.
- Wrap each stuffed jalapeno boat with a slice of bacon. Pierce with toothpicks to hold the bacon in place, if needed.
- Air fry the jalapeno poppers for 10-12 minutes, or until bacon crisps up to your preference. You may need to do this in batches, depending on your air fryer brand.
- Remove from heat, cool slightly, and serve.
