Air Fryer Onion Rings
Description
Starting with large onions cut into rounds about half an inch thick, the rings are carefully separated to preserve their shape. A batter of flour mixed with paprika, black pepper, and cold sparkling water forms a light, smooth coating. The rings are dipped into the batter and then thoroughly coated in seasoned breadcrumbs with dried parsley, salt, and pepper.
The air fryer is preheated, and the onion rings are arranged in a single layer with a light spraying or brushing of oil to encourage crisping. Cooked at about 370°F for roughly 10 minutes, the rings become golden and crispy without excess oil absorption. The paprika and black pepper in the batter add subtle warmth, while the parsley in the crumbs offers a fresh herbal note.
The onion rings serve well as a snack or alongside sandwiches or burgers. Cooking in small batches helps maintain even crispness, and monitoring during air frying ensures they are cooked to the desired texture without burning.
