Air Fryer Pork Chops
Description
Air Fryer Pork Chops are prepared by coating boneless, half-inch thick pork chops with olive oil and a seasoning blend of salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Preheating the air fryer to 380°F and cooking the chops for 10-15 minutes (flipping halfway) achieves a well-seasoned exterior with tender meat inside. The method relies on dry heat circulation to form a light crust without overcooking.
The seasoning mix creates a balanced savory flavor with a hint of smokiness from paprika and herbal notes from Italian seasoning. The pork chops are best served immediately after cooking but can be reheated gently without losing moisture. This approach avoids frying in oil and reduces cleanup.
The recipe allows variations: bone-in chops require slightly longer cooking, as do thicker pieces. Seasoning ahead saves time, and leftovers can be refrigerated for up to five days or frozen for up to three months. Reheating in the air fryer at 350°F helps retain texture. Adjust cooking time based on chop thickness and preference for doneness.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pork chops or 3 pieces, 1/2-inch thick, boneless
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper ground
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for about 5 minutes.
- Add Oil - Coat the pork chop with oil on both sides (this is an optional step to help the seasoning stick and a crust to form, omit if you prefer)
- Mix the seasoning - In a bowl, combine the seasoning ingredients: salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and then rub on every side of the pork chops.
- Cook - Air fry at 380°F for about 10-15 minutes, or until the pork chops reach 145°F. Flip the pork chops halfway through the cooking.
Notes
- You can season the pork chops the night before and keep them covered in the fridge for more depth of flavor.
- Adjust cooking time if using thicker or bone-in pork chops; add 1 minute for thicker cuts, 2-3 minutes for bone-in.
- Store leftovers airtight in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze wrapped individually for up to 3 months.
- Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F until just warmed through to maintain texture.
- When using a toaster oven-style air fryer, reduce heat to 350°F and shorten cooking time by one minute.
