Air Fryer Potatoes (Low Fat)

Air Fryer Potatoes (Low Fat) produces crispy quartered Yukon Gold potatoes seasoned with garlic, paprika, black pepper, and salt, coated lightly with olive oil and cooked at high heat in the air fryer. The method ensures even cooking and a golden exterior without excess fat, offering a flavorful side dish that's easy to prepare.

Description

This recipe begins by preheating the air fryer to 390°F for optimal roasting temperature. Petite Yukon Gold potatoes are quartered to uniform sizes for even cooking, with larger pieces cut into sixths or eighths. They are tossed in a bowl with a small amount of olive oil, salt, garlic, black pepper, and paprika to add color and a gentle smoky flavor.

Potatoes are cooked in a single layer in the air fryer basket to avoid overcrowding, which could cause uneven cooking. After an initial 10 minutes, the potatoes are stirred or flipped and cooked for an additional 5 to 7 minutes until crisp and golden brown. Serving immediately ensures the best texture, complemented by ketchup, a light special sauce, or other preferred condiments.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1.5 lb. Yukon Gold potatoes petite sized, 725g
  • 2 tsp olive oil 10g
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390 °F.
  2. Wash potatoes well then slice into quarters. You may need to cut some into sixths or eighths if it's a larger potato - we want the potatoes to be the same size so they cook evenly.
  3. Place potatoes in a bowl and add olive oil, salt, garlic, black pepper, and paprika. Toss to evenly coat.
  4. Add potatoes to the air fryer basket, without over crowding the pan. Cook for 10 minutes, use a wooden spoon to toss around/flip, then cook again for another 5-7 minutes.
  5. Take out, let cool, and serve immediately with ketchup, skinny special sauce, or other condiment of choice!
