Air Fryer Round Steak
Description
This recipe starts with round eye steaks cut about 1 ½ inches thick. After trimming excess fat, the steaks are brushed with neutral oil to aid browning and seasoning adhesion, then coated with salt, pepper, and optional steak seasoning. The air fryer cooks the steaks at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, with timing adjusted based on thickness and desired doneness, ranging from 7 minutes for medium rare to 12 minutes for well done. Flipping halfway ensures an even crust and cook.
The air fryer’s circulating hot air crisps the steak exterior while locking in juices for a tender, flavorful result. Resting after cooking allows juices to redistribute, enhancing moistness. This method simplifies cooking steaks without stovetop or grill, producing a well-seared crust and controlled interior finish.
For optimal results, preheat the air fryer, dry the steak before seasoning, allow the steak to come to room temperature before cooking, and use a meat thermometer to check doneness. Ensure single layer placement in the air fryer basket for proper air circulation.
Allow the steak to rest 5 to 10 minutes before slicing to maintain juiciness. Times may vary by air fryer model and steak thickness, so monitor closely.
