Air Fryer Shrimp
Description
Air Fryer Shrimp begins by preheating the air fryer to ensure even cooking. Shrimp are peeled and deveined, with tails optional. A spice blend of paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper is mixed and applied to the shrimp along with olive oil for coating. The shrimp are arranged in a single layer in the basket to cook evenly.
Cooking at 400°F for 5 minutes with a flip halfway delivers shrimp with a slightly crispy surface and a juicy interior. The recipe suggests alternative seasoning blends such as Mexican taco, Cajun, Italian, Old Bay, lemon pepper, and Caribbean jerk for taste variations. This flexibility allows customization to various flavor profiles without changing the basic cooking method.
The shrimp can be served simply with lemon and parsley or incorporated into salads and tacos, making it suitable for quick meals or appetizers. The recipe notes that cooking times will vary with shrimp size and air fryer wattage, indicating attention to doneness cues is important.
Thaw frozen shrimp before cooking and adjust seasoning or spices as preferred. The recipe balances straightforward preparation with flavorful results.
