Air Fryer S'mores
Description
This recipe begins by preheating the air fryer to 380°F. Graham crackers are broken into halves and placed in the fryer basket, topped with marshmallows cut in half and pressed cut-side down to ensure adhesion during cooking. The marshmallows are air fried for 3 to 4 minutes until golden and toasted to personal preference. Immediately after, a square of chocolate is placed on the marshmallow, and the other graham cracker half is pressed gently on top to melt the chocolate slightly and sandwich the filling.
The result is a convenient, quick-to-make s'more with a golden toasted marshmallow and melted chocolate center, served best immediately to enjoy the texture contrast and melted consistency. The recipe suggests checking at 2 minutes during cooking due to variations in air fryer models.
Recommendations include eating the s'mores fresh within 5 to 10 minutes, no leftover storage advised, optionally tearing marshmallows in half for better melting and stability, with alternative flavorings like fruit additions or different cracker types suggested. Vegan adaptations with dairy-free chocolate and marshmallows are possible.
Ingredients
- 3 graham crackers gluten-free or regular
- 3 marshmallows (regular or jumbo-sized) cut in half
- 3 quares chocolate milk, semi-sweet, or dark
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F.
- Break the graham crackers in half and place six squares in the air fryer basket.
- Cut the marshmallows in half and place 2 halves, cut side (sticky side) down on each graham cracker. Important! Lightly press down, so they stick to the graham crackers and do not fall off during cooking.
- Air fry for 3 - 4 minutes until the marshmallows are golden and toasted to your liking. I would check at the 2-minute mark; all air fryers are different.
- Immediately top each marshmallow with a square of chocolate and the other air fry toasted graham cracker half. Gently press down so the chocolate melts.
- Enjoy immediately!
Notes
- Consume s'mores within 5 to 10 minutes after cooking for best texture and flavor.
- Do not store leftovers as the texture degrades quickly.
- Cut marshmallows in half and place cut side down on the graham cracker to prevent them from falling off during air frying.
- Try adding fresh fruit like strawberries, banana slices, or raspberries for extra freshness.
- Alternative graham cracker brands or types such as cinnamon or chocolate varieties can be used for different flavors.
- For a vegan version, use vegan marshmallows and dairy-free chocolate.
