Air Fryer Steak
Description
This recipe begins by removing steaks from the refrigerator about 30 minutes prior to cooking to bring them closer to room temperature for even cooking. The steaks are coated with olive oil and melted butter, then generously seasoned. Cooking in a preheated air fryer at 400°F for approximately 8-12 minutes, flipping once halfway, achieves a seared crust while maintaining desired doneness inside.
The steaks benefit from resting after cooking for at least 5 minutes to allow internal juices to redistribute, enhancing tenderness. The optional steak butter is made by mixing salted butter with minced garlic, fresh parsley, smoked paprika, or other herbs and can be placed on the hot steak just before serving to melt and add a rich, herbaceous flavor.
Steaks of at least 3/4 inch thickness are recommended for effective air frying. Cooking times vary by thickness and desired doneness; use a thermometer to check internal temperature. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer to allow proper air circulation for even cooking.

- 2 steaks 1" thick , ribeye, sirloin or striploin

Notes
- Bring steaks to room temperature by removing from the fridge at least 30 minutes before cooking for more even grilling.
- Use a meat thermometer to monitor doneness since air fryer models and steak thickness can vary.

- Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to ensure proper air circulation and even cooking.
- Let the steak rest 5 minutes after cooking to redistribute juices and improve tenderness.
