Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries

Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries use peeled sweet potatoes cut into even quarter-inch fries, tossed with olive oil and seasoned with salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper before being cooked in the air fryer for a crisp exterior and tender interior. Various dipping sauces can complement their natural sweetness and spices.

Description

The fries start with carefully sliced sweet potato planks cut to uniform thickness for even cooking. After soaking briefly in hot water and thorough drying, the fries are tossed with olive oil and seasoning to coat evenly. Cooking in batches in a preheated air fryer avoids overcrowding, allowing hot air to crisp the fries consistently.

The cooking process involves an initial high-temperature phase at 380°F for about 12 minutes with a toss or shake halfway, then a final phase at 350°F to finish crisping. This dual stage ensures fries are soft inside with a nicely browned, slightly crispy exterior.

Suggested dips include ketchup, garlic mayonnaise, sour cream with garlic, or tzatziki, which add savory or tangy contrast to the fries’ sweetness.
