Air Fryer Tuna Melt Recipe Ingredients:
- 500 g Bread Maker Dough
- 240 g tinned tuna
- ¼ red onion
- 75 g Frozen sweetcorn
- 100 g grated cheese
- 1 Tbsp Salad Cream
- 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 Tsp oregano
- salt & pepper
- butter optional
Instructions
- Flour your clean kitchen worktop and your hands and roll out your just made bread dough. Make into your chosen shape such as the baguette style we made.
- Place the bread baguettes into the air fryer using the grill pan and cook for 15 minutes at 160c/320f.
- While the bread is cooking make the filling. Add to a bowl thinly diced red onion, drained cans of tuna, rinsed frozen sweetcorn, salad cream, mayonnaise, half the cheese and the seasonings. Mix in a bowl.
- When the air fryer beeps slice the bread in half to be able to add the fillings. Load up the filling, add the rest of the grated cheese on top and place back into the air fryer.
- Cook for a further 6 minutes at 160c/320f.
Notes
- Optional step is to butter the bread prior to loading the tuna melt topping. I never bother as the mayo is enough, but Dominic would be lost without his butter and would roll his eyes if I recommended the tuna melt without it!
- The tinned tuna we used worked out a combined weight of 240g before draining. Or to save measuring it’s the same as two small cans.
- You can use canned or frozen sweetcorn, we used frozen and rinsed under a tap before adding to the bowl.
- I like a combination of both salad cream and mayonnaise. Though you can use all mayonnaise if you prefer.
