Air Fryer Turkey Breast
Description
The turkey breast is coated with neutral oil and a seasoned dry rub, then cooked in an air fryer preheated to 350°F. Initially cooked skin side down, it is then turned skin side up and covered with foil to gently finish cooking to an internal temperature of 165°F, ensuring safe doneness. Removing the foil towards the end allows the skin to crisp up if desired.
The method retains the turkey's juiciness while providing a straightforward cooking approach without using an oven. Resting the meat after cooking helps redistribute juices for tenderness. The dry rub imparts flavor without overpowering the natural turkey taste.
Air fryer capacities vary so size of the turkey breast depends on the appliance. Proper thawing and complete drying before applying oil and seasoning are important for even cooking and browning. The recipe includes an oven alternative with similar seasoning and temperature guidance for those without an air fryer.
Storage instructions advise refrigerating leftovers in an airtight container up to five days. Removing the skin before cooking reduces calories, and cooking times vary by breast size and air fryer model. Always verify internal temperature with a thermometer for safety and best results.
