Air Fryer Whole Chicken
Description
The Air Fryer Whole Chicken uses a blend of olive oil and spices including Italian seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to coat the bird. Cooking at 360 degrees Fahrenheit, the chicken starts breast-side down to concentrate heat on the denser part of the bird, then flips midway to brown the skin evenly. This process results in a crisp outer layer and juicy interior, with an internal temperature target of 165 degrees for safe consumption. The method avoids conventional roasting and reduces cooking time.
This whole chicken can be served as a centerpiece for any meal, paired simply with vegetables, salads, or grains. The seasoning is balanced enough to complement a variety of sides without overwhelming the natural chicken flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 (4-5) pound chicken giblets removed, whole
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- salt
- black pepper

- Place the chicken breast side down in the air fryer. Cook at 360 degrees for 30 minutes.
- Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
